How to descale your Senseo
Descale as soon as the CALC light comes on, or about every 3 months. Use only a citric acid-based descaler, not vinegar.
- Empty the pad holder and place a large bowl under the spout.
- Pour half of the bottle into the empty water tank and top up with fresh water to MAX.
- Start the descaling programme using the buttons stated in your manual, and let the tank run empty.
- Repeat this with the second half of the bottle.
- Rinse by filling the tank with fresh water and running it through once more.
Caffinity tip: On older Senseo models, the steps are slightly different. In that case, check the manual for your model.
