How to remove coffee residue from your Philips or Saeco

Do this once a month. The tablets do not descale: use descaler for that.

  1. If your machine has a compartment for ground coffee: fill the water tank to MAX, put one tablet in that compartment, select ground coffee and make a cup. Leave the solution to work for at least 15 minutes, then start the cleaning programme for the brew group.
  2. Without a compartment for ground coffee: take out the brew group through the service door, dissolve one tablet in warm water and use it to clean the brew group's filter with a soft brush or sponge.
  3. Leave to work for 15 minutes, rinse the brew group thoroughly under the tap and put it back.

Caffinity tip: You can degrease the drip tray in the same way: put a tablet in, fill two-thirds with hot water, leave to stand for at least 30 minutes and rinse out.
