Instructions for use: Philips Saeco liquid descaler – 250 ml (CA6700/10)

How to descale your Philips or Saeco

Your machine tells you with the message Calc Clean or a light that comes on. The programme takes about 30 minutes.

  1. Remove the AquaClean or Brita filter from the water tank.
  2. Pour one full bottle of descaler (250 ml) into the empty water tank and top up with fresh water to the CALC CLEAN mark.
  3. Empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container and put them back.
  4. Place a large bowl under the coffee spout and under the hot water or milk spout.
  5. Start descaling via the menu or the Calc Clean button and follow the display. The machine empties the tank in about 30 minutes.
  6. Rinse the water tank, fill it with fresh water to the CALC CLEAN mark and let the machine rinse. Then put the filter back and activate it in the menu.

Caffinity tip: If you use AquaClean filters and replace them each time the machine asks, you will need to descale much less often.

Every machine is slightly different. If in doubt, follow the display or your machine's manual.
